Background to SuppoRTT

There are many personal and professional reasons why Postgraduate Doctors in Training take time out of their training, for example parental leave, research, career breaks and ill health. At any one time, it is estimated that around 10% of Postgraduate Doctors in Training are out of programme at any given time. SuppoRTT was developed to enable Postgraduate Doctors in Training to have a safe and confident return to their training by offering a wide range of learning and support resources, which can be used to provide a bespoke package to suit individual needs. This is beneficial not only to the individual doctor, but also the wider NHS.

Health Education England West Midlands are committed to offering SuppoRTT to as many eligible trainees as possible. All Postgraduate Doctors in Training will be treated equally regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, race, religion/belief, sex/sexual orientation and/or any other protected characteristic
