For trainees returning at this time, it is important to ensure that the SuppoRTT principles are still followed.  We strongly recommend that prior to your return you have a discussion (this does not need to be a face to face discussion) with your Educational Supervisor or Training Programme Director to plan your return.  We understand that this may be particularly challenging at this time,  therefore, if you are unable to access your Educational Supervisor or Training Programme Director we recommend that you liaise with the Postgraduate Centre Manager at your returning Trust or the Director of Medical Education / Clinical Tutor to have this discussion.

Whilst we appreciate this is a challenging time, we would appreciate if you could complete Form 2 (the pre-return form) retrospectively, the link can be found here
Over the next few weeks, could you please complete Form 3 (the Return review form) which can be found here.

If you find that you are struggling with returning to training or impacted as a result of COVID-19, please contact the Professional Support and Well-being team

A guide for Doctors who have taken time out

At HEE WM we now have a process in place where trainees are encouraged to complete an individualised Return to Training plan when planning any time away from training, or planning their return. This is to identify support required upon their return in order for them to step back into training after taking time out without unnecessary difficulties.

The process is Trainee Led requiring participation in structured planning and review meetings when leaving and returning with a Supervisor,  in conjunction with the SuppoRTT process HEE will also be providing Courses and Events.

More information on the process, events and further resources can be found below.
