Training in General Adult Psychiatry in the West Midlands deanery offers you an exciting opportunity to gain expertise in treating mental illnesses in a multi-ethnic and multicultural population.
The work within General Psychiatry is varied and challenging. It involves participating in multidisciplinary clinical management including team leadership; coordinating care for people with psychiatric illness; working with a range of other medical, nursing and paramedical staff, together with statutory and voluntary organisations concerned in the care of people with mental illness.
In General Adult psychiatry, trainees are expected to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, in addition to subspecialties. West Midlands Deanery provides you with a wide range of opportunity to work in different regions including Birmingham, Coventry, Warwickshire, Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent, Black Country, Dudley, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
