Educational Supervision for Trainers
(Training the Trainers)

The PMETB Generic Standards for Training (PMETB, 2009) states that all Doctors acting as supervisors for Junior Doctors must have completed specialist training to be able to do so.
Any Supervisor who does not complete appropriate training via a Deanery, College, Trust or University every three years may be unable to supervise Junior Doctors in the future.
There are multiple ways of completing an appropriate Training the Trainers course. Amongst other institutes the West Midlands Deanery offers direct participation courses. A list of available direct participation courses can be found and enrolled onto by clicking here.
