A Description of the Programme
The West Midlands Deanery offers comprehensive training to its Neurology Specialty Trainees. Trainees rotate through a good mixture of tertiary Neuroscience centres and District General Hospitals. There are ample opportunities at each centre to develop one’s area of sub-specialty interest.
A Description of the Programme
- Typically 5 years
- Trainees generally spend some time at each of the 3 Neuroscience centres UHCW Coventry, UHB Birmingham, UHNM Stoke-on-Trent over 5 years
- There is the opportunity to gain training experience at District General Hospitals (Wolverhampton, City Hospital Birmingham) to complement training experience received at Neuroscience centres
- On average about 2-4 trainees start each academic year
- Changeover occurs in either in the first week of August or February
- The central location of the Deanery with excellent rail, road and air links makes it an attractive place to train in
