Training the Trainer Mandatory Courses
From January 2010, the Postgraduate Medical and Education Training Board stated that all medical clinicians involved in the training of Junior Doctors should attend an appropriate 'Training the Trainers' course every three years.
Who will benefit?
This session would suit all Consultants and College approved trainers who have trainee Doctors in their department. Whilst the course is open to everyone it will be of particular use to Programme Directors, College Tutors, Clinical and Educational Supervisors.
What is the Programme Outline?
The Deanery provides training for trainers covering the following topics;
Effective Educational Supervison for Trainers, Appraisal, Assessment Tools, Giving Feedback, Dealing with Doctors in Difficulty, Using the E-Portfolio, Using evidence to sign off Competencies and giving Career Advice.
There is no preperation work to complete.
