UKPHR Registration

Since 2003, the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) has been an independent regulator of public health specialists. In April 2011, the UKPHR opened the route to registration for public health practitioners.

The UKPHR’s primary purpose is to protect the public through the voluntary regulation of public health professionals in the UK. It does this by:

  • working with partners setting and promoting standards for admission to the register and for remaining on the register
  • dealing with registered professionals who fail to meet the necessary standards
  • publishing a register of competent professionals
