Details on ARCP Requirements
ARCPs for Geriatric Medicine are held annually, usually in September. Starting in 2014 there will be a separate ARCP for G(I)M: there will be three over the five year training period – at the end of ST3, ST5 and ST6 (the latter being equivalent to the current PYA).
Your E-portfolio is reviewed by the ARCP panel and progression is assessed against the Decision Aid (which can be downloaded from the JRCPTB website).
In addition to completing the requirements of the Decision Aid, all trainees are required to complete the following annually:
- An assessment of on-take performance
- JEST (failure to complete this will result in an automatic unsatisfactory ARCP outcome)
- GMC survey (failure to complete this will result in an automatic unsatisfactory ARCP outcome)
