At present there are no predetermined rotations although care is taken to minimise geographic movements as much as is able. We are fortunate to be able to offer all aspects of ENT surgery within the West midlands with several active head and neck units, combined working with neurosurgeons for skull base surgery, Complex paediatric care and complex rhinology with state of the art pituitary and anterior skull base surgery.
The majority of West Midlands trainees take the opportunity to undertake a higher degree most often in medical education, law and ethics or NHS management. There are opportunities for MD and PhD work within many university departments with Birmingham and Coventry having excellent records of success in this area.
The aim of the training programme is to ensure a well rounded ENT doctor who is able to take every opportunity to further develop themselves.
