A Career in Clinical Oncology
Oncology is a rapidly changing speciality and working with cancer patients is therefore, rewarding, challenging and interesting.

Although it is certainly an emotive specialty, working with patients and families during such a difficult time can be personally very rewarding.

A Profession with Variety & Challenges
As oncologists we see a huge variety of symptoms and clinical signs as each patient will respond differently to the disease and its treatment. This of course means huge variety and ensures we are never bored!

We work closely with surgeons, pathologists, medical oncologists, radiologists, therapy radiographers and nurses to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Research Opportunities
There is always a great deal of research in oncology and as a registrar you will be encouraged to be involved in this as much as possible. No other medical specialty is evolving as quickly as oncology with new treatments available frequently.
