Academia Podcast

Striving for excellence is the hallmark that marks academic training programmes in the West Midlands. We believe in attracting and nurturing the brightest and most ambitious students and young doctors who are beginning to demonstrate their worth and to launch them in future careers that will help to transform the future leadership of academic medicine in the UK and globally.

To do this, we aim to offer exciting and stimulating training programmes across the three University Medical Schools of Birmingham, Warwick and Keele that dovetail with the academic strengths of our leading institutions and teaching hospitals.

While fully integrated, we aim to be flexible and try to preserve entry at every level and will be committed to the developmental needs of every academic trainee we accept onto our programmes.

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic, energetic and bright medical students and young doctors who want to explore or develop a clinical academic career in research or teaching and we will try to be as flexible as possible. We will ensure that as well as a world class exposure to academic medicine and research, you have a comprehensive and excellent exposure to clinical training and experience and will be prepared to be leading clinicians in your chosen specialty in the future.
