Less Than Full Time (LTFT) training allows doctors and dentists to work less than full-time in posts that are fully recognised for training, and have the educational approval of the Postgraduate Deans and the Royal Colleges. Almost a quarter of LTFT time trainees work in general practice.
Trainees in hospital and GP training posts who would like to convert to LTFT status do need to apply to the HEE for approval to see if they meet the criteria. For further information, please refer to the LTFT Training section of the HEE(WM) website.
