The West Midlands has an active GP Trainees Committee which seeks to represent the views of trainees in this area. The Committee plays an important role in ensuring trainees thoughts and opinions are fed back to the Royal College, via the National AiT committee which has close links with the college. The Committee was set up in 2007/2008 and meets quarterly with an AGM which is open to all trainees. It also organises social events and annual trainee lectures, featuring influential and inspiring medical practitioners in general practice. The Committee aims to keep trainees informed of any guidance from the deanery arising from our meetings and this is generally fed back via email.
